Dress Code

The dress code for our wedding is formal black-tie attire. We kindly request dark colors for the men and ask that guests avoid wearing white, ivory or cream.

Please note: You must cover your knees and shoulders before entering the Basilica. We recommend bringing a shawl if needed.

The theme of our wedding is the Golden Age of Hollywood. We would love for you to dress in line with this theme, if possible. Below, you’ll find a description of the era along with some images for inspiration.

The Golden Age of Hollywood, spanning from the late 1920s to the early 1960s, represents sophistication, elegance, and pure glamour. This iconic period was defined by the big screen, where movie stars like Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, and Grace Kelly captivated audiences with their timeless beauty and impeccable style. The allure of old Hollywood lies not only in its cinematic magic but also in a fashion sensibility that has withstood the test of time.

The colors of this era reflect the glamour of award ceremonies: black, the epitome of elegance, takes center stage with an aura of mystery and allure; red, the color of passion and power, brings drama and sensuality to the designs; champagne, with its luxurious and subtle charm, embodies elegance; and emerald, a shade of opulent green, adds depth and richness to the palette. These colors pay homage to Hollywood’s classic aesthetic while remaining modern and captivating.

A hallmark of the Old Hollywood style is the meticulous attention to detail and texture. Sequins, lace, and feathers are the stars, elevating fashion to a level of opulence and grandeur that perfectly reflects the era.

Sequins, with their dazzling, reflective quality, capture the sparkle and glamour of old Hollywood. Whether adorning a floor-length gown or a chic cocktail dress, they add brilliance and magic to every piece.

Lace, on the other hand, adds a touch of delicacy and romance. The intricate patterns and sheer panels evoke a sense of sensuality often associated with the big-screen stars. From lace bodices and sleeves to layered lace details, this collection celebrates the timeless beauty of lace in all its forms.

Feathers, with their soft texture and lightness, bring an element of fantasy and drama. Whether used as trim on hems or as a trendy accessory, feathers recall the lavish parties and red-carpet events of the era, adding movement and a lively charm.
